Something In The Sky : Taken
An exploration in sight and sound
Moritz Von Oswald (Berlin, exclusive UK date)
Curated by Sheree Rashit & Steve Bicknell, LOST returns with an extra special event to delight electronic music aficionados across the board.
Hosting the red area, we are pleased to announce an exclusive presentation by Jeff Mills of his next instalment of 'Something In The Sky'. A truly influential artist needing no introduction to anyone aware of electronic dance music, an integral member of the LOST history, anticipate the unexpected. Created and conceived by the Techno music producer/ DJ Jeff Mills, the 'Something In The Sky' event is a conceptual performance of sight and sound exploring the subject of unidentified flying objects [UFO], the history of ufology and the existence of extraterrestrial life that supposedly visit our planet. Jeff Mills brings 'Something In The Sky: Taken to: ' Not to be missed!
Playing alongside Steve Bicknell in the blue, we welcome guests Moritz Von Oswald and Plaid, no strangers to the LOST dancefloor, having joined us on some of our most memorable nights over the years. As one half of revered sonic vanguards Basic Channel, plus Rhythm and Sound, Moritz output has been a huge influence on many of today’s producers, with his masterful sonic nuances a key shaper of dub-techno, and the deeper end of the bass music spectrum. Moritz musical reach extends far past the dub- inflected electronic soundscapes he introduced to dance music, encompassing outstanding remixes of Tony Allen, Ravel and Mussorgsky. Latterly his Moritz Von Oswald Trio have collaborated with Mala of Digital Mystikz. A truly diverse innovator.
Plaid, producing music since 1988, were formerly two thirds of Black Dog. Under the guise of Plaid, Ed and Andy are regarded as seminal UK electronic music producers, their work encompassing the sounds of the dance floor and award winning film soundtracks alongside writing and performing with Bjork. Their unique dj sets always score. Following his remix of Hauschka's Tanzbein on FatCat last year, Steve Bicknell has recently completed a mix made up exclusively of original and remixed works of Hauschka's Salon des Amateurs album. Mario completes the line up.
